207 SQUADRON ROYAL AIR FORCE HISTORY

No.7 Squadron Royal Naval Air Service
No.207 Squadron Royal Air Force
Roll of Honour in Leicester Cathedral

This Roll of Honour names those who died whilst serving on No.7 Squadron RNAS or No.207 Squadron Royal Air Force.

It was deposited and dedicated in Leicester Cathedral on Sunday 5th November 1989. It was updated in 2001. It was placed in a glass topped case in the south aisle of the Cathedral, beneath the Squadron's original Standard which was laid up there on Sunday 14th October 1984. It may have been relocated following the reburial of King Richard III in the Cathedral.
It is presented as a 'day book', in month order. It does not include POWs or Evaders. The pages are turned regularly.

Research for the Roll was done by Raymond Glynne-Owen, whose uncle completed a tour on the Squadron and was then killed whilst instructing on an OTU.

The calligraphy was by Mrs Vivien Holmes.

Images of the pages are by Frank Haslam, taken in October & December 2004. These website pages were made possible with the cooperation of Leicester Cathedral, to whom many thanks - please do visit the Cathedral.
