207 SQUADRON ROYAL AIR FORCE HISTORY

WHY WE HAD NEWSLETTERS

Following the formation of the Association in 1984 the first few newsletters, by Flt Lt AF 'Ben' Lyon, dealt with arrangements for the early reunions.

In 1986 our late Chairman and President, AVM David Dick, issued our first Newsletter proper as an experiment:

" .. the Newsletter is a most important part of what a member gets for his subscription - especially those members who do not live in the UK. I believe that we should build up the Newsletter to provide a service to, and a link between, members".

David was Newsletter Editor until the end of 1991. In 1992 a Friend Member Frank W Haslam became Editor. In March 1998 he launched the Association's website. Our twice yearly newsletters - often 20,000 words - were illustrated, wide ranging, and had many contributors. Copies went to to the RAF and Imperial War Museums.
