The following items of (mostly free) software have so far been found by the Editor to be useful tools for more efficient use of the Internet. Go!Zilla is a utility for more efficient downloading of files from the internet - such as new bits of software.  Once you have selected a file to download Go!Zilla goes into action to find out if the same file can be obtained faster from anywhere else and lets you choose what to do.  It also works out if the download can be resumed if you have to stop for any reason.  www.gozilla.com

Copernic is a sophisticated search utility. It has been very highly praised by many reviewers.  It searches all the key search engines simultaneously and provides a savable set of results. It has proved to be quite fast and comprehensive. www.copernic.com
